its an ma61
oz delivered had a 5me 2.8l straight six heap of shit.
in factory form they are pretty slow, even more so in auto.
but they are fun to drive.
for a stocker you might look from around 2-5k depending on condition.
rear hatch is a very common rust spot.
for more info see:

putting a 5mge head on a 5me CAN be done, but its not worth it- it ends up cheaper installing a 5mge. practically everything is the same, so its easier as well. no ma61 supras had 5mges here, but the mx73 cressidas did, and some soarers. (mz21?) 5mges are a bit old but can be found. theres one on here for sale in melbourne. the 5me is slow, but, i have a bit of fun with it. certainly better than the celicas of the same era (i had one, it was cool tho )
parts are hard to get, especially hatches, front bars...
a common problem is with the digital dash- it may cut out and generally be an arse. the electric power in the ma61 is a bit dodgy, its always good to attach a massive earth strap from your battery to body of car. helps heaps.
keep an eye on the headgasket, ive been told the 5me likes to blow them a bit like a 7m, but mine is still okay...
all the aus-spec supras had LSD stock, but apparantly most are pretty shagged- something to check out anyway.
can't really think of much else, im certainly no expert.
anyway i hope that helps.

parts arent that hard to find if you know where to look. as for putting a twin cam head on the 5me forget it. 5me is chain driven for starters, and 5mge is belt, just get a 5mge to begin with.
