Hi all,

As mentioned, i was driving down a small quiet street, and i noticed that my speedo just stopped working Confused , i was going about 50km/h, and it was reading 0km/h also, the dial seems to be stuffed as well, as the KM dont go up when i drive. Sad

Anyone know how to rectify this? My car is a 1989 Celica SX White Lightning Manual.

Thanks all broz,
CK

Speedo cable's come loose.

Pull your instrument cluster out and see if the connection is OK there. Otherwise, it'd be the actual line (could've snapped or something).

sounds like the speedo cable Chopin. check out the integrity of the cable and all of its connectors. and even the little pulley that sits in the gearbox, make sure the teeth havent broken on that.

I got a feeling were gonna see a black Chopin, send us some pics.

Chopin

well.

firstly you need to remove the drivers side speaker cover 1 screw

then plastic thats under your steering wheel, from memory there are 5 screws and 1 10mm bolt

then pull out your hazard switch and demister switches as there are screws under there. btw they just pull out with very little force

then unscrew the black cover on to of the instrument cluster 4 screws.

then remove your instrument cluster, 4 screws. making sure you lower your steering column and pull the telescope on the steering wheel column as well.

and your done.

I think I have covered it all...anyhone else see something i have missed
