83 Nissan Pulsar hatch
Engine: totally stock 1.3ltr with 4spd manual
21.25 (unofficial)
We were carrying a full tank of petrol and 3 full grown people in the car. We came across a quater someone had marked out so we thought we'd give it a go.
I've also dragged a BMW off from the light with a bunch of guys in it that though they were all that. I kicked their ass.
They beauty about this car was I was doing 140 in a 100 zone, went flying past some cops in the bushes and they must have looked at the car and the reading and though that car couldn't do that speed.

Not run down the 1/4 yet but i can take a pretty good guess at what it should do...
Car: TA22 Celica
Mods: Series 6 13BTurbo, Garrett GT40 turbo, MoTeC M4Pro
Power: About 550hp
0-100kmph: not long!
1/4 mile: Looking at around 10.5 @ 130mph at a guess.
All depends on traction etc.

4SFED,
How is it coming along?? (im TTCelica on Performance Forums). I see you are using a real ECU too....nice choice . Ive got an M48 Pro, and using the MoTec traction control, which is a deadset brilliant pice of gear. Are you going to use it???

Oh yes, nothing but a Motec would do!!!
Havent got it all running yet but i have all the traction control there ready to be setup, but that kinda takes away the fun of being able to queeze the pedal down in 4th and have it step out sideways...

Yes, of course!! Their is NO point building a car if your going to use shit stuff, ie, why would you bother using anything else BUT a MoTec?!?!
Ahh, your ability to have fun is not lost!! MoTec thought of everything, thats why they built in a disable switch into the Traction Control multiplexer.....friggin champions!! are you also going to use a clutch switch?? As your second digital input?? Also cant beat SAFE flat changes in a drag, with the added advantage of full boost as soon as the clutch is re-engaged!!!
Oh, and MoTec is the ONLY ECU that engineers will allow for emissions testing, which in the end makes the car FULLY legal....in NSW anyways......

You need LOTS of traction to run a 10, and unfortunately that means making nasty compromises with your suspension setup. Most cars struggle to run an 11 with street suspension, even with slicks.
Still, it's all about trap speed and there's no doubt you'll get a good result there!

Oh and BTW, I've yet to run any of my cars on the quarter mile, mostly because I've never had anything fast enough to warrant the effort. The Supra should have enough power to run a mid 12, but I think traction will be a major problem so a low 13 is more realistic. I'll definitely take it for a run at Willowbank when it's running!

Norbie = I should be a good challenger for u when i get my turbo done
I'm hoping for mid to low 12's, and i'm not stopping till i get it.
At the moment with this motor i got 16.84 @ 89MPH, but that was with bald tyres (tyres spinning at half throttle till third )
Should run a high to mid 15 with my new W58 box and new tryes. Shall tell u in a month when i run it again.
MMM, cant wait for TURBO!!!!
For anyone interested this is my planned mods:
That goal is set to finish by end of next year (hopefully).
The car is now in the motor stage having almost finished the interior and exterior work(apart from a new paint job in december). What i'm doing at the moment is putting EFI on my mildly worked RU now and making that all work properly. All the parts are going to be painted, chromed or polished to make it all look good, not show condition, but just very clean and tidy.
Also i'm upgrading the box to a W58(just finished doing it), RPM HD clutch(just finished doing it), hilux diff and brakes so I can handle the power i'm going to give it. Then i'm going to build my other RU motor up with forgies, etc.. (tough internals) and bore it to 2.2litre. Drop that in with the EFI and Haltech E6K computer.
Add to that a VN radiator, relocate the battery to the boot, a custom intercooler and mandrel piping, custom exhaust manifold and dump, custom exhausts; they're[yes two] are going to go exit through each side of the car(like the mustang in gone in 60 seconds.) A big ass turbo is then going to be bolted on. Either a T04, GT30, or a bigger bearing turbo will give me some boost- up to 25psi(for strip, with 10 for street). The last thing will be to add hydrolics and sunroof, then it'll be almost complete. Ohh and dark tinted windows are on the cards to be done very soon.
Thats a lot of work and a lot of money i'm going to throw at it, but i'm prepared to wait and put in the hard yards to make it look SWEET!
PS- Stereo will consist of two lightning audio strike series 15inch subs in custom box, twin US audio 1000W digital amps, focal 3 way splits in the front stage, pioneer 6inch splits in the back and a clarion CD tuner and TV.
Thanks
Ben

Spot on Norbie, like i said, its all about traction. The Racecraft celica ran a flat 10 untubbed on i think an 8" slick, A777 (Angus) and AJC13B (Steve) are all running around the 10.3 mark with i think an 8" slick and similar power to what i will have. Once i get it all setup correctly, this is what i think i should be aiming at (oh how i would love to beat Angus
Once i start going this quick the car will have to sacrifice in streetability, so i am reluctant to take it that far. But you know, once the bug bits.....

You've got your work cut out for you if you want to beat Angus... I've never seen an untubbed car launch like his (when it's not braking gearboxes that is).

1980 Ke55 coupe 4k engine and auto, picked up a set of twin 45mm su's and extractor cheap, and threw them on and went for a run, first run was 26 sec, far to rich, so lean it off a bit and got it down to 19.1, new cam and will try again for some more fun and practice, should get down to the 15's with some head work, new motor being built is a 18rgu with an efi setup and injet comp, spacer to lower comp, and a set of super charge cam profiles and a S/C of a soarer should get me down in the 13s.
