I recently got PS hoses made up for my Supra, which turned out to be a giant PITA because hardly anyone has the equipment to work with metric lines and fittings. I ended up going to about half a dozen places in Brisbane before I got what I wanted, and even then I had to adapt the Aristo lines, they couldn't make it up from scratch!
Forget about Pirtek or Enzed or other big chain stores, they're hopeless from my experience - anything which looks like too much work and they'll tell you to bugger off.

Interesting, both my remote fuel filter and remote oil filter were done by Enzed.
Walked in, said I need this, they say I can do it this way, or that way, and it will be ready this arvo.
Oil filter lines were about $114, fuel filter lines were about $75
BUT, they did with with my fittings, which you should have anyway.
I definately recommend my joint (doesn't help you much southo) and I will be going back to get my aircon lines morphed together

It would be piss-easy if you could buy metric fittings to suit a Supra steering rack, but they don't seem to exist - that's why I made a hybrid out of a MA61 and JZS147 hose. I had to get the steel line at the end of the hose cut down and re-shaped to suit my application, but guess what? No-one has flaring tools for 10mm tube! Bah!!
Maybe it's different in Sydney but it was a fucking nightmare getting this sorted in Brisbane.

yeah it's a pain because most industrial gear is in imperial fittings
but it's easy enough to find fittings at wreckers.. just be careful dremmeling off the outer thingy..
my local Enzed (botany? mascot? off gardeners road) are very very helpful.... they braze things, and will make up whatever hose you can think of... have brake line in a large number of sizes...
Pirtek on the other hand... those lazy bastards have a hard time getting up off the chair to ask what you want

I have used Enzed and HIS with no grief, with HIS definitely being much better on price. Pirtek have been lazy (well my local one was anyway) such that I would recommend steering clear of them.
Initially they can be difficult and tell you that the orientation of the fittings is very important. I would recommend you use swivel joints as the orientation becomes unimportant. Then it becomes a simple matter of bringing them the fittings at each end, a desired length from fitting end to fitting end and the use of a swivel joint. They will cut and braze the fittings. Ask them to fit the swivel joint at the most accessible point.
I just had such a power steering line made for my Crown (1UZ power steering pump outlet to Commodore power steering rack - total length 800mm) for $81.

Yeah I got a swivel joint put in my P/S hose, made it a bit more expensive but installation was 100 times easier.
Oh and double-check the fittings before you get the hose made up; I used the one from the pump end of the hose instead of the rack end, which has the same thread pitch and looks identical but for some stupid reason is actually ~0.5mm larger. I spent about 20 minutes trying to screw the damn thing into the rack before I realised it was the wrong fitting... I thought I was going mad for a while there!

My local Pirtek is reasonably helpful, always recognise me, etc., whereas my local Enzed are sometimes alright, but always seem to hit you up with an unthinkable bill. Then again, others have told me that they find the local Enzed absolutely amazing, and the Pirtek lazy... It's really luck of the draw!

Yeah i went thru the same ordeal, whent to enzed (well it was sunday and i whent to the enzed guys house and spilt PS fluid all on his driveway as i was showing him the busted PS hose. He was angry )
Ended up using my PS hose ends to fabricate up a new PS hose. cost $100 and the enzed guy came out to my house so he could check the orientation for my supra before clamping the hose fittings.
I even got him to get under the supra and install the PS hose for me, dunno why he was so nice considering the oil I spilt on his nice clean driveway, and how much of a bastard it is to install that hose!

I live in Sydney (Northern Beaches more precisely) but I don't mind taking the car to a person anywhere in the Sydney Metro Area - provided he...
a) ... knows what they are doing
b) ... takes pride in their work and will do a good job,
c) ... not take forever and still charge top dollar
d) ... charge a fair and reasonable amount for a good job
or, I can pay extra for them to come to me if they prefer...

pirtek in rydalmere is pretty good - never had any troubles there asking for weirdly shaped bits of pipe/fittings - but I've never had a high pressure one made up by them
