Hi all I have a sc14 supercharged hilux petrol running ea falcon throttle body injection.
I recently installed a suby w/a intercooler and since then for some reason I am not developing much boost (less than 0.5psi)
I have put it down to the bypass/blowoff valve setup but cannot figure out what is different than before.
I used to run a bosch compressor bypass valve and the sytem used to work properly. 5-6psi The only physical differences now being
1.) intercooler
2.) Bypass valve recirculates air closer to the s.c intake than before.
If i run a blowoff valve it will develop alot more boost 4-5psi, but i do not wish to vent air to atmosphere and do not want to attract anymore police/rta attention to my car than is neccessary. i.e noise. however if i convert the blowoff to recirculate air i have the boost loss problem.
Can anyone explain this and how i can get around it. only thing i can think of is to move the bypass hose away from s.c input.
pic is sttached. throttle plate/butterfly valve lay beneath black bosch cbv. and the the air used to recirculate up the intake at a point near the power steering pump previously.
I just cant figure out what has changed other than slight flow loss through intercooler.
