ST185CS Brake pads Sat, 18 December 2004 12:03 Go to next message
G'day guys,

Need to do a pad change and wanted some opinions/suggestions.

Both front and back if u could.

I only use the car for street driving and occasionally WSID, so i dont need harcore pads. I just want to know what pads u guys use and also where to get them. I ask this because im not sure if the calipers are the same as the standard gt4 and dont want to take them off, realise the difference, and then have to walk back to the place only to find out that they dont have any others.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. Bendix Metal King
2. Bendix Ultimate (their flagship product - around 200 i think)
3. EBC Greenstuff (cost more than bendix - around $280 for front)

*dont quote me on those prices. I use Greenstuff, very good but they squeek alot. Also, i made them real hot the other day and they didnt work too well. It was a very hot day though.

Does the CS gt4 run the twin spot calipers up the front, like the JDM gt4's? because i've got the twinspot calipers and i need to do a pad change soon. the Aussie gt4's use a single floating piston on the front, so are they different pads for the twinspot calipers?

i would just use some ferodo premiums or bendix advance. if you go for those more expensive pads which contain more metal, they are going to eat though your rotors quicker. my 0.02c Smile

ok, cool... thanks.

Now the money question...

Are the Group A calipers different to the standard gt4??

And where do u guys go to buy the pads... do these places keep them in stock or do u have to order them in??

Yes the calipers are different.

but... the twin piston and single piston calipers use the same pad.

Bendix do not make an ultimate pad for the gt4 but the metal king pad works pretty nicely.

yup should work ok.

im running ther metal kings in the twin piston calipers. i believe the calipers ive got are off a JDM Group A but couldnt confirm. but they are definantly twi piston and fit the standard gt4 pad.. and work a treat on an AW11 Razz
