When your clutch starts slipping dont overcalculate its life expectancy and then take it to a drift meet, and turn boost up and then get towed home.

Andrew: C'mon, Whats going on here, No forward motion??

Tow Truck Driver: No way mate. Thats clutch plate.

oi thats EXACTALLY what happened to the clutch in my R31 daily car. been slipping for a while, was booting it one day and then downchanged from 3rd to 2nd for a corner while braking. then shuddered and lost all drive, just free revved in every gear!
\
towed home and puled clutch out and it looked like that, hahaha

Hehehe Nice.

I just had a similar experience, I will put up some pics tonight if I remember, mine died in a spectacualr fashion and melted the buttons (4 puck, brass button, solid centre friction plate, custom pressure plate with not enough clamping force Mad ) It essentially "smeared" the buttons across the rivetts.

The car behind me told me that "sparks" were coming out from under the car too (moutlen metal escaping through the drain hole and clutch fork hole!!). I was able to baby mine home though Very Happy The grooves in my pressure plate and flywheel were over 1.5mm deep Shocked Mine had slipped a few times leading up to it's death, so I knew it was going to happen Very Happy

Here is the link to pics of my clutch as I promised, I think you will see it is rooted!

Note: it was more than just your average heady duty clutch, and it was not contaminated with oil. The damn pressure plate just could not hold it when the tyres gripped. It lasted about 10,000km so I can't complain Rolling Eyes
