 GZE vs '00 Celica

I'm just wondering, given both engines are running correctly, would my AE82 GZE beat a '00/LateModel celica?

I would like to know because, I have a feeling that my engine is not running correctly and I would like to have some sort of gauge to see if I need to take it to sydney to get it checked out. I don't know of anyone in canberra that knows anything about the ZE that I can take it to and they know what they're doing..
If anyone knows of someone in ACT I can take it to please let me know... I'd rather fix whatever problems there may be now before any damage is done to the long term life of the engine..

jdm nissan primera TE's that we get over here tend to run mid to high 15s stock, maybe your sss pulsar has a lower spec sr20de. ours is rated at 110kw.

Do any of you guys know of anyone in Sydney or Canberra who I can take my car to get checked out?
Someone who has experience with the gze. I know one of the seals on one of my injectors is cracked cause its sort of got a gunge build up and when I give it some I get the nice smell of fuel come through the vents

well I dont know how much your 'rolla or the new celica weigh, but the new celica puts out about 30kw more than the gze (and that's assuming the 160hp AE92 gze)

I have an AE101 GZE, which is 127kw I think, and the 2ZZ puts out 140kw right?
But the ze puts out like 240nm of tourque(or there abouts) where as the celica puts out 180nm...

i have a gze in my ae82 rolla, yes we can beat a new celica, i killed one last night, couldnt keep up with me, killed it off the mark and got infront by about 6car lenghts.
whats your engine doing?? i know alittle about them, and my friends knows them inside out

Dont forget ur little AE82 will weigh less than the Celica.
The Celica really has to be being caned to get any decent progress out of it, puts out roughly 100kW at the wheels just like an Integra Type R too.
Call them rice all you want, and no, neither is a proper alternative to a nice quad-throttle setup, but you gotta respect that much power from a NA 1.8 that is still nice to drive around normally.

my engine isn't really doing anything, I keep getting an engine check error message come up when when I'm on constant boost, like accelerating up a hill or slightly increasing speed up a hill, basically whenever there's substained boost being applied... I've been told it may be my knock sensor not conncted/not working properly, I'm not all that confident with the wiring job that was done on my car.... so it could be anything...
The engine seems to spit out a little bit of smoke when I really give it some, not white smoke but thin black smoke... I don't think it should be doing that with just 95,000k's on the clock...

don't worry about the smoke... it's what we call "full throttle smoke" and most cars do it. but specifically, toyota ECU's go into open loop when you reack WOT. this means it's no longer worried about sensing the oxygen levels in the exhaust and adjucting the mixtures accordingly... all it's doing is running a factory pre-determined map that is concened basically only with engine speed... it's just giving it heaps of fuel, at all rev positions and making sure it wont lean out up in the top end...
