I have a lambda meter, but I'm not in your area I'll probably be coming up for dyno day, and summernats before that, but you've don't want to wait that long, hey!

Umm - this might be a dumb question, but did you get the SAFC tuned on a dyno?

sorry for the late reply, christmas time get really busy in my family.
yeah, got it tuned at a dyno, and since then have checked all my sensors, have made sure my car is running standard timing, and have bought new spark plugs.
Im getting really worried that its carbon buildup in the engine, cause it seems like everything else is fine....

can anyone shed some light on this?? engine starts pinging once the engine is well and truly warmed up unless i drive it like a granny. If i switch it off after a drive then start up again after a few minutes the pinging is at its worse, until im guessing the engine bay gets a bit of cool air so im thinking its heat related.
It also comes about anywhere about 20% throttle, and gets worse when im at boost pressure.
If anyone has any insight please let me know. IMO its either fuel or electrics, like there is a starvation of fuel, or the distributor is not providing the correct timing under load

I have replaced the whole ignition system except the dizzy itself, the igniter and the coil. I tested the dizzy, cleaned it up, new oil seal etc so im sure its still good.
I have also checked resistance of every wire coming from the ECU to the engine bay and all are good, except the Turbo Pressure Sensor wires show 5, 10 and 20 KOhm resistance from left to right on the connector, but according to the wiring diagram atleast one of the wires goes straight through to the ECU.
Im not sure if this is normal. If the turbo pressure sensor is not able to send the correct signal to the comp could it throw my timing out of whack trying to compensate for a non existant boost pressure?? Does the turbo pressure sensor actually relay a signal to the comp for engine management or is it just for the stock gauge?? Im kinda clutching at straws atm.
My car also has some difficulty starting if its been sitting for a while, maybe the 2 problems are related.
I would like to know if anyone has had this problem before or if they think there is something i have overlooked.
Just out of curiousity, anyone else out there runnin a S-AFC II with a 2nd Gen 3SGTE what sensor setting numbers do you use?
Mine is at In 1 and Out 1
