Replacement 7M-GE, Need Advice!!!

Hi all,
Have a 91 MX83 cressida that's been giving me alot of overheating headaches of late, looks like it might be a gasket/cracked head (although my existing one has only done 167000kms and had the gasket done march this year)
I'm now weighing up my options, i've been talking to the family financial loans officer (my dad ) and i'm looking at the possiblity of just pulling this engine and installing an import 7M-GE, as if anything else its going to be faster to replace the whole motor than f*ck about having the head reparied and rebuilt AGAIN, waiting etc..
Can anyone help me with info on this? Where did you get your motor from? Approx how much should it cost? Warranty? Can anyone recommend an engine supplier in queensland??
I was thinking a budget of $2000 might scrape in- say $500 fitting, $500 shipping (remember i'm in north qld so the motors likley to have to come from brisbane at minimum..) and approx $1000 for the actual motor.
This may sound stupid, but would a 7M-GTE conversion be feasable on a budget of say $3000?
One final quesiton, i've seen the supra 7M-GE's use a different inlet design to the cressida ones (the throttle body seems to be located closer to the airflow meter and there is a dual pipe into the inlet plenum vs the cressies that have the throttle body further down, right up against the inlet plenum- is there a worthwhile power difference from this?)
sorry for all the questions guys (& girls..), i'd cetainly appreciate everyones input. Is this a good idea?

rebuild your current one again. obviously the head may have been rooted when you had it rebuilt not so long ago...so it hasnt sealed properly and is now leaking like signs of a BHG...What happens to alloy heads is they warp when they are cooked...my original one looked like a banana when it was pulled off...
I spent $2300 on parts alone. BRand new rebuilt fully head - cost me $1000. The rest was just in bearings/rings/gaskets etc.
If your bottom end's been done itll only cost you for the head and a gasket set.
To be truthful, by just replacing it you are replacing shit with shit...

Yeah, but i'm not looking to rebuild the whole motor or anything, i'm planning to trade my car ASAP, but it's not practical right at the moment (i only got the thing in march this year..) just a relativley quick easy solution that hopefully gives me 12 months of only minor drama motoring
I just need something that will get me say to brisbane and back without letting me down as I have little faith in this motor in its current state.
BTW the head was totally rebuilt march this year - valves were refaced, new stem seals, corrosion was welded up and the surface faced. The very fact that the head was repaired is incentive enough to replace it altogether, and the cost of a good recoed head + fitting (new gaskets etc) it might work out better in the long run to fit a whole new motor, but this is only my thinking-maybe i'm hoplessly wrong,?????

i'd go with a 7MGTE engine with ECU/wiring harness ($700-1200 depending where you shop) and find someone here on toymods that would be willing to install it for you for some $$, and also get the head re-torqued down to 68-72 ft-lbs.
You'd have change left over from that $3000 to afford an oil/filter change, toyota red coolant, spark plugs etc. Will be reliable for years!
Just make sure the engine you get isn't a crapper to begin with. (check compression!, check turbo wheel for play etc)
