More Morwell Drift - Sat 15th Jan Thu, 23 December 2004 06:20 Go to next message
It's on again.

Where: Morwell hillclimb circuit
Take Princes East out of Melbourne, take first Morwell turnoff, turn left at second roundabout (KFC just before this corner) continue out here 3-4km, track is on left.

When: Saturday Jan 15. 9 - late arvo (I think)
How much: $95 first time drivers, $70 if you've been before, $5 spectators

More details on NS.com

It's a pretty tight track, but suprisingly good for beginners, so go on, do it.

Hen

Yay. I might be at this one. I will be in Gippsland for the weekend so Morwell is only half the usual distance away.

Unless you live in Morwell it's probabaly not worth heading out after 4. It's the best part of two hours from the city and we could well be off the track by 5, then again maybe we'll be out there til 8. Just have to see how it ends up on the day.

Hey -

I was working out in Gippsland last week and dropped by on this on my way home - was excellent. Wicked track too...

You guys were awesome. The Maroon R33 was pretty damn good too..

Hope you enjoyed the day, i did as did the other guys.

The dude in the R33 has keys to the place and he goes there very often. That said he is also a good steerer.

I had my first time out there competing and want more.

That's a perfectly normal sentiment for a boy your age, but the question remains, who was the other participant???

Seriously, it was an awesome day as usual, thanks to all the guys who put it on. I had to leave jsut as the track was drying up and starting to get really good. Mick in the black S13, Mark in the R33 and Dave in his blue sil80 (all finalists at Banzai) were looking good out there though.

I feel really sorry for the guy who smashed his GTR, didn't look pretty. Same for the VH that's now modified to have a wheel in the passenger footwell.

See all you diehard fans on Wednesday.

Was it the white R33? Did it happen later in the day or earlier?

White R33 GTR, came around the last corner, over corrected and cleaned up a tree head on right in the middle of his front bar. No damage to the engine by the looks of it and the radiator support panel only minorly bent by the looks of it, but still not what you want to see. Especially since it was probably the most expensive car on track.

Yes, Wednesday night here we come, although I could well be late due to this ridiculous working 9-5 thing I have started.
