Yeah makes you think there should be something like that on one of these crappy Australian performance dvds , apart from a shit load of footage from japan . And don't flame me , but loads of old Australian drift footage . With the added sections on some car in the states or japan which we will never see And apart from showing you the out side of the vehicle , no information on the car its self .
That video with Simon on the cover was one of the most boring ever . At that same time the local Melbourne networks channel 31 had coverage of the Drift National on there show " THE C WORD " and it was great , good footage , interviews with drivers , the crowd , and the most important thing to me THE BLOODY CARS . Great show that one mostly i think because the interviewer is the kind of guy who will walk up to anyone and have a chat . He doesn't need to have his back pocket lined to interview someone might also be the case since there volunteers on that network . So there might be really interested in cars which aren't just owned by there mates .
I think the complete dvd crews in Australia have got lost in there mates workshop or some bloody garage in japan we mostly will never see . Our dvds are really just following the marketing plan of the American dvd's at this time , next they will be full of show girls and not cars .
Hot Version and most of the Japanese dvds show the cars , meet the drivers , and visit the workshops . Is it really to hard to follow there format ? As well as having updates on news etc , which isn't years old like the Australian ones . I think if i see another old fat fart talking shit about a turbocharger which nobody uses , or a bloody r33 i will be never buying another Australian dvd .And most people that have ever been to my house can see that i hunt down every released dvd / video that is car related . I have spent lots of time tracking down these films and dvd's from all markets , Europe , USA , Japan , China , Hong Kong etc . I think i was over the 200 mark along time ago so i am now starting to rate the Australian ones last for sure .

Don't worry Simon i already have , don't get involved or you might not make it back onto a cover again . That guy from Drift mag at the meet and at Calder seemed to know what people wanted nice guy too . Maybe he should have had a dvd camera , not just film .

I totally agree with everything improvedae86 has said. I find myself totally engrossed in BMI or Option and I cant even understand what they are saying! I haven't experienced that with any local DVD before.

I was watching serious performance 7 (i think it was number 7)the other day and the apparent largest AE86 contingent was fuking terrible, only 2 of the 8-9 cars were worth looking at, so fukin boring?
And then a club interview, Fullboost, haahahaa
Rant over.
As said before im also beside myself when watching BMI love it
Cheers

lol yes that dvd . Myself and a few others from here are on that . It could have been a good thing but was over quickly due to the need to film the fulllock people , which they didn't uses the footage in the dvd anyway . But most of the cars in that shoot where being fixed just to make it around a circle of cones anyway so you could have done a performance comparison anyway . From memory one of the silver ones have some problem , the black one had a water leak , one was towed there and didn't run and one wasn't finished . And the rest where 4ac's so it wouldn't have made for fun viewing anyway .
I been thinking , well in this state we could have a ae86 comparison like the following .
4ac
4age 16v
4agze
4agte
4agte twin turbo
4age 20v n/a
4age 20v turbo
3sge
3sgte
1uz
sr20det
i think theres a sr20n/a ke70 on the road as well somewhere
might be a few others out there as well
