6M on 5M EFI

Hi All,
A little while ago, I purchased a 6MGUE from my local jap importer, who did a suply & fit into my 84 Supra. While everything is working ok, I have noticed that they have used the 5M AFM, which looks to be a "lot" smaller compaed to the 6M intake ducting. The Engine is running extreamly rich, and has terriable fuel ecconomy - 320Km to tank (60 Ltr).
Question1: Should I replace the 5M comuter with one from a 6M
Question2: Knowing that the 6M EFi ssytems are harder to come by locally, can I use a 7M wiring harnes and Comp?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Len

Additional Info:
The 6M is using the 5M dissy, which was modified to fit.
I am assuming this needs to go also.
Cheers,
Len

I take it you had a 5ME before?
If you want it to run a bit better, the best solution would be to use 5MGE AFM/dizzy/ecu etc etc, of an 86-88 MX73 Cressida.
the 5ME is a lot more primitive compared to the 5MGE.
But the 5MGE is almost identical to the 6MGE.
5MGE stuff will all bolt straight on.
Use the 5MGE ecu, afm, dizzy, throttle body, coil, ignitor etc.

Thanks for the advice,
Yeh, It had the factory 5ME in it when I got it.
I am assuming the CC differance between the 5MGE & 6MGE would not worry the ECU?
Any reason for suggesting to replace the throttle body?
Cheers,
Len

the 6m will run perfect on a 5me efi system, you must make sure
that all the 5m efi bits are fitted and work to work properly on the 6m

The word perfect may be a bit strong.
But get an mx73 5mge harness ecu etc.
Then you get the niceties like knock sensor, o2 sensor, electronic ignition advance.

While a 5M-GE EFI system is definitely better than the 5M-E setup, the engine should still run perfectly fine as it is; my old Supra had a 6M running on 5M-E electronics and apart from being a bit heavy on the juice it ran really good. There is obviously a problem with this engine which needs to be sorted out, and replacing the entire engine management system isn't the way to do it IMO.
