More Powa From a SA63R Sat, 25 December 2004 17:36 Go to next message
i have a SA63R with as u all know a 2S-C ...not the most popular engine out there nor the most powerful.....but as i am not really intrested in an engine change for now(possible 3S-GTE conversion in future)

But yeh anybody tried a 2S-E head swap? i was thinkin maybe head swap and possible turbo??

let me know what u think about it... and any complications eg. blocks not compatable etc...
thanks for ur info

I have a 2S-C I got it ported and polished... Not much difference in power. Have the exhaust changed. K&N Airfilter, adjust the timing (reminds me - get carbie fixed)... That is all I can think of...

Doing a 2S-E conversion, the injectors and inlet manifold are too high as the SA63 engine sits upright.

Cheers.

Yep, not worth it in my opinion, especially considering you have engine swap aspirations. Save your money, and swap in a 1GGTE, when you have the cash and time available - this will be your cheapest option.

thanks with the feed back...yeh i know it might seem pointless....but yeh jsut want to add more mechanical experience...plus i doubt i get any engine conversion for atleast another 5 years so yeh i want more grunt now!

i just want a more responsive engine (thats y go EFI track) nad since not much exp doin engine conversion might start small with just a head change and efi wiring..i mean plus those camry's with the 2S-E aint that expensive

i mean im really in it for the exp...i know HP wise aint that much of an upgrade...but i end up with a more fuel efficeint and responsive engine.... for like 200-400 dollars
tell me if im underestimating the mod

thanks
