T50 rear seal Sun, 26 December 2004 02:21 Go to next message
Has anyone replaced the rear seal on a T50 before? I would like to know before I rip the tail shaft out and have a look myself.
Cheers

Same as most rear seals.

Dig out the old one with a srewdriver and pliers. Be careful not to damage the casing that holds the seal otherwise the new one may not seal properly.

Once old seal is out, clean the area really well to remove any shit.

Take new seal and spread some box or engine oil around the outside to looob it up.

Push the new seal in evenly with your strong hands. If you have a socket as big as the seal you can also tap it in gently too.

Hope this helps.,

Jezza

Man by now means do ya have to take the box out to do it. Jack up the car and put it on stands for safety! Take out tail shaft, 4 bolts on diff, and wallah, follow above directions.
Shocked
