Yep they have different bearing faces, and dependant on which diff they come from, will also be a different length. Nice try though.

it's a disc T282, and the axel would be coming from a drum T282, is it the bearings them selfs? the length should be right..

hey man, you'll find that the drum spec bearings are actually narrower than the disc spec ones, but they should still fit, you just cant use the disc spec ones in a drum spec housing. not sure about the end plates but 90% sure they are the same Laughing

the disc brake axles & retaining plates are different to the drum axle versions. the overall axle length is the same. some drum brake axles dont have enought room to take the wide disc brake bearing, and some do. the later disc brake axles have a larger spline

to change the retaining plates you have to remove the bearing which means destroying the shrink ring . thay come as part of the hub bearing kit. it is not clear what you are trying to do. I have a workshop in ipswich if thats any help. we press bearings on/off axles regularly. not very hard, just takes a while to do properly. many we get have bucked drive flanges due to fools trying to bash them apart. some we can re-machine, others are junk

well the plan is..if the drum T282 axel has the right spline..i will grab that axel, and the disc T282 axel (bent flange plate) and swap the retaining plates over..and my mate gets to keep his disc rear end!

obviously were using new bearings..
