I seem not to be able to d/l as fast as possible. Using azureus, showing far more seeds than I appear to be using. Suggestions. Also to what degree does running more than one d/l at a time have on speeds.

Have tried to set prefs via a tut on the prog I found but hasn't really made a difference.

BTW I am on a mac, no thats not the problem

found the problem.. heh, no have you checked your firewall settings? read the faq on settings? Yes the number of downloads will effect your speed if your on a capped connection.

As for seeds, the more the better not because if theres 161 seeds that you download off every single one but the fact that if theres more then there will be more of a chance someone is on a nearby connection with a small amount of hops.. hence better speed for you.

Im on an optus cable connection and Depending on the file Itll range from 30-80kb/sec on avg.. then sometimes spike to 150's 170's or sometimes itll decide to drop below 10 for awhile.

It will never use every seed that is listed. So to recap, it depends on the file. But for a norm be expecting 30kb/sec+

are you connecting through a router/ gateway ?

If so, make sure that you areforwarding ports 6881 - 6889 thru to your internal IP ( thats assuming that your BT client is listening on those ports)

Seems to be better now. Opened up the F/wall and finally got green smilies (went yellow after last update) and got the f/w configured and back on without loss of speed. Thanks guys.
