i searched old threads on this subject but i have more questions

I have started putting together my engine, and i have snapped and stretched two main cap bolts, so i am buying new ones from Toyota. Is this sufficient and should i buy new rod bolts too?

I will be giving this engine a hard time so is there anything i have missed?

List so far,
bored & honed block, decked (skimed?)
bal. crank, std rods and forged ACL's
new bearings, head studs, rcoed head with good stuff (ta josh)

also can i use the 205 steel headgasket on a 185/mr2 engine?
any past experiences and known weaknesses would be appreciated.

I have refreshed my 3SGTE a couple of times and have used the standard main and rod bolts , The week point I have found is the head lifting and pressurizing the cooling system if you run over 30 lbs boost and I am using a ST205 head gasket and ARP head studs .

I'm in the same position myself at the moment.

@TA22-3SGTE So you've used the ST205 headgasket without problem? i thought some of the water galeries didn't line up? Any more info on mods? I'm after around the same amount of power, except at 4 wheels.

Yes, take your old gasket in, and make sure that lal the coolant holes line up. If not, look elsewhere.

Interested to know what compression ratio and what fuel enables you to run 30 pound of boost?
Thanks

Ok i have got my 205 gasket, yes it is multi layer metal. BUT yes the hole are a little different, 1. The oil feed to the head is really small? can i just die grind it out or is there some reason for the restriction?? 2. the water jakets are slightly different but should be ok apart from one overlaps the casting, will this be a weak point in the seal? I have pics if some one has a good host?
