Did anybody go this week end for the 50 thousand meet? It was ok, usually its great racing from the sprinties. They had the junior sedans there, like, 14-17 Year olds racing shitbox escorts, commodores, cortina's etc, and one of the kids got blind sided and drove head on into the concrete barrier in the center and completely rolled over, damn that was funny.

yeah i was there i felt sorry for the kid though.i reckon the sprintcars were awsome it was a great feature race and id travle 2 hours to see it anyday..

Na the motor drome or newcastle speedway closed down nearly 3 years ago. But there is a new dovelopement going in for one near William town. In some cases i even have to go to Dubbo for racing because the motor drome closed down. it sux!!

ive read about that wots happening with the court case againt the speedway, did they have to pay the fine for going over 85dba?

This has also happened at Parra, except people aren't complaining, PCR is just cracking down really fiercly on the DB limit. A couple of people got slammed for it a couple of meetings ago.

It usually happens with sprintcars as they are pushing the cars to the limit. For example each sprintcar can be 85dba from 7 meters away. But at this event in NZ the heat of 8 cars could not go over this. So to make the car quieter some had two mufflers and geared their cars so they wouldnt rev any higher than 6000rpm. This led to shit boring racing.
