Just wondering do you need a bike licence to ride one of these, and do you need to register it with the RTA? just wondering cos i know some people were having trouble with the mini bikes that's all. Otherwise would be interested

At a guess this would go in the same catagory as pocket bikes.
Illegal everywhere except private property, and will attract a fine/demerits if caught.

Well i ride to my girlfriends maybe 4 times a week at its like 3kms away and to the shops 400 meters away and i have been stopped by 2 cops both saying " put a helmet on ". So these are different to pocket bikes as they are scooters.

The National rules are
no license required
-Any age can ride
-Limit to 50km/hr
-Normal Push Bike helmet is fine
-Motor cannot output more than 200watts (approx 50cc but you have to have it checked.)
Note: If it is not a moped, you cannot ride it without a license as its considered as a motorbike. Even if its less than 50cc/200W output.

50cc only 200W?? yeah right, an average human can peddle about 600W for a short period. Even electric wheel chairs are over but have an exemption. Even a 10cc engine produces more power.
This thing is illegal to use on the streets regarless.
sorry Nick but I dont want someone to buy this and get really disapointed when they get a fine for many times more than this thing is worth. Nice machine though.

I am sick of saying this: Arch dont take it personally but check the regulations instead of beleiving the propaganda.
I have seen it with my own eyes: 200W at the wheels

You'll get away with riding it say to work or something as long as you have a helmet on. Just if you get busted, start walking for a while instead
