ok, im fitting a 1g into my ra28 so need to move the mounts to the front holes, the brackets from the back dont fit the front without mods, but my mate being the genius that he is, thought hed make it fit, he has put the bolt in on an angle forcing it around by hitting the spanner with a hammer. it got half way in and snapped. needless to say he was beaten with the spanner.
How the F@#k do u get the bloody thing out

first of all.....no offence to your mate but.... dude, seriously thats pretty stupid.
you will probably need to buy a stud remover or use a pair of vice grips, hopefully its easier to undo than do up. bit of crc or rp7 too.
if that doesnt work, youll have to cut the bolt off flush and drill a small hole in it and use an "ezy out"
you can get em from hardware stores. pretty nifty tool.
and then you will need to re drill and tap a new thread into the hole cause it will be completly rooted now.

You may need to drill a smaller hole through the centre of the bolt, tap it and then screw a small bolt in there to get it out
Either that or you'll need to get a set of easy outs from somewhere!

yes he has been told how slightly retarded he is. there is no hope of gripping it as its snapped off about half a mm inside the hole, how do these ezy out things work??

ezy outs...basically you buy one thats smaller than the size of the bolt. bout half size.
1. buy corresponding drill bit, good ezy outs come with correct bit.
2. drill hole into snapped off bolt, make sure its straight too
3. clean out all the swarf
4. wind or hit the ezy out into the hole you just made, make sure its a good fit.
5. now you should be able to turn the ezy out anticlockwise (like you are undoing the bolt) and the snapped off bit SHOULD come out.
be a bit gentle tho, you dont want to break the ezy out. i have used them before and they have been great, can be re-used too

The most important thing with getting any bolt that is stuck, cross threaded or broken is HEAT!! Especially when using ezy outs you must heat up the block. Preferably use an oxy set but if you dont have one even a electric heater will help.
And another 2 cents worth on easy outs...
Ezy outs work well in some applications and not in others
If he hammered the spanner around until the bolt broke half way in, as in the head of the bolt had not made contact with the surface there is about a one in million chance an ezy out will work. But there is a really good chance you will end up with an ezy out broken off in the bolt then you've got a real problem!
If you haven't done it before take it along to a machine shop/engine reco shop, these blokes do it all the time and charge bugger all to do it ($20 - $50)

yeah if it ends up fucking up good and proper, and nothing else will work. You can get it drilled > threaded and then sleeved so you can keep the original bolt size. Bloke at the muffler shop quoted me ~$20 for it

If your stuck needing to drill it I would go straight past the Ezy out option and just drill it to within a mm of it's life and tapping it to the correct size (carbon steel tap about $10) most engine mount-to-block holes that I have seen are M8 x 1.25mm OR buying the HeliCoil (about $50-60) set.
I recommend this BECAUSE it sounds like the bolt is well galled in there and if you mate tries the reverse technique with the Ezy out (ie hit's it with the hammer) then you problems will be compunded beyond belief)

Sometimes i take my old man for granted, pulled the exhaust and intake manifold off my 4K (one of the reasons i picked the car up hell cheap) to do the gasket on the heat exchange thing, oh 2 bolts are missing... oh, the two bolts are snapped off in there... TOPS... he drilled and cleaned out the thread for me.. top bloke..
