New tool set

I bit the bullet today and ordered this from Blackwoods, picking it up tomorrow.

At least I can throw out all the cheapo AF sockets and spanners I have lying around. I'll use the old metric stuff to make my girlfriend a set to have in her car.
I rationalise it as something I can have for years, and not let my kids touch, when i'm old.

Ahhh, Metrinch.
If I ever planned to work on an imperial car again I would have bought one.
But I just went out and bought a Metric only 1/2 drive set.
I have no intention of working on fords and holdens ever again.

yup that set is the bomb.
even if your not ever going to work on imperial those sockets are awesome for metric as they can take out bolts with damaged heads. all in all a great set of tools.. and im not just reading the specs. my mate has a set and i love the things once i can either bear to part with the cash or i finally throw the crappy set ive got atm out the window ill get some.
how much did you end up paying if you dont mind me asking ?

haha thats the exact same set I've had for about a year.
You won't lose bits because it all has a spot in that blow moulded case.
The best part about it is that when you're packing up the 30 odd tools and sockets you've left all over the place after a late night under the bonnet you don't have to worry about where you shove the bits back because they only fit in their own spot... and you don't have to worry about mixing up the metric and imperial.

That set there was $350 from Blackwoods, there are a couple of different sets, you can see them on the metrinch webpage. Blackwoods, Glenfords, Bunnings all sell the sets, but they may have to get them ordered in from Tridon.

Damn good on rounds bolts and nuts but a bitch in tight areas.
Keep your metric gear handy.
