LOL! Too many stories to tell.... now faded and burnt into my aging brain.
I remember being allowed to go home early from school to watch the Apollo-11 landing. I remember mini-skirts and hot-pants. My dad's dope plants that he grew in the backyard, when we lived in Cronulla. Him and mum were always high and listening to the Beatles, Elvis, The Mommas & the Poppas, and watching the "Sony & Cher" TV show. I remember when MASH was new and when the 3-Stooges were on the air.
I went to the Led Zep, Deep Purple, Gary Glitter, T-Rex, Slade and Suzi Quattro concerts when theses bands were in their prime. I used to get pissed at the Sylvania Hotel and watched a young band called "Cold Chisel" before their first big hit (Shipping Steel). Also remember seeing Midnight Oil play there before they become popular. I remember Woodstock. I had a transistor radio that boasted "5 transistors" and I made my own cats-whiskers Crystal radio.
I had the old style skateboard - a superflex with Kansas City slicks all round - it was short, skinny, fast and I used to be a demon on it.
I remember seeing the first TA-22 in the early 70's and thought it was a shmick looking car - better looking than the Datsun 180B (which I've always had a soft spot for). I went to the "old" Hardie-Ferado in Bathurst a few times, and watched Geoghan running around the circuit in his Charger, Brocky in his XU-1 and there were Monaro's and I also saw the Phase-III of Moffat. I can recall the days when HQ Holdens were everywhere.
I remember the first Jumbo Jet that came to Sydney and was absolutely awe-struck by its sheer size. I just missed out on being conscripted to 'Nam.
I remember the Intel 8080 processor when it first became big and we all had S100 systems. My first commercial computer was a Dick Smith System-80, then I upgraded to an IBM-PC.
Dad taught me how to drive a manual car one-handed while the other hand rolls a joint. Mum taught me how to paint many types of flowers one-handed, while rolling a joint in the other hand.
I'm typing this message one-handed....

Soon to be. Will be on the track for the first time eva on the 15th. I was going to wait till I at least got a LSD of some sort and modded my suspension but I'm too impatient so I figured what the hell I'll give it a go, it'll still be fun and if I blow my crappy 4AC then its just a way to justify the expense of getting a better engine.
