can i use a ra23 fuel sender in my ta22 as it is not working.

the RA23 and teh TA22 are the same car from the doors back so i dont see why the RA23 item wouldnt fit and work fine

Actually that's not strictly true, there are lots of differences between the TA22 and RA23 (not just the front end). However I'd be very surprised if the fuel sender is different, provided your TA22 is post-72 that is (ie with the upright tank).
