larger intake plenum?

i notice a larger intake plenum is a common mod for honda b16 and b18 vtec engines. How come its not a hot item for 4age 16v engines? is it bcoz we have option for ITB? is that the only reason?

An asumption to make is that there are a lot of high horsepower turbocharged b series honda motors out there so hence there is a market for it, esp in the states.

dont quite think thats the reason. i have a theory though.
toyota bigport plenums were too big therefore they came out with the smallport ones? are their plenums different size?
