Older one is available with AWD running gear and a 4.0L V8 (1UZ-FE) engine
New one is available in Japan with 2JZ-GTE (auto only).
Which one do you choose... ?

That would be a step backwards. The older model (JZS147) was available with the 2JZ-GTE also, which is a superior engine to the RB26.
