And picked up a set of Yokohama S306 14/185/60 for $100 each. Now all the TE37's are back on Smile

Tomorrow, the cars going for a dyno tune at Southern Motorworks. Its been blowing a heap of smoke (fuel) which is running far too rich, and since the cam timing has been fixed it seems a little sluggish in lower RPM. Get it back on thursday and hope to have some good news

Just got the car tuned. 84RWKW at the start of the day, and on the final tune pulled 90RWKW@6550RPM and still loves it. The cars running more smoother/quieter/powerful/ and responsive. It has alot better pickup in bottom end power than before. This time it was tuned by Jason at Southern Motorworks. He found there was alot of errors including cam timing, throttle bodies out of balance, safety features in the ECU not activated, and map issues. Now that them errors have been fixed its running like a dream.

TRD (new type KYB) blue 4WAY front shocks should arrive monday and hopefully fit next week before next sat 22nd (D-Day)

Just a few pics of the 18LED parker globes lit up. (Bottom headlight rims arrived last week, but havent been fitted yet)

Nice car buddy Wink Looks like a lot of effort gone into it.

Those symptoms sound like not enough power getting to the ECU, just double check the ignition, 12v positive and earths. I have seen this exact same problem twice on two different cars and in both cases it was a power supply issues (bad earth on one, poor wiring to the 12v +ve on the other).

Hope it's a simple fix.

EDIT: even a slightly flat battery can cause those problems.

thanks man Smile

I just took the computer to Microtech to get benchtested, whether they can find a fault or not, at least i know for sure where to go looking next. The only possibility i can think of that may have caused this is when i washed my car on sunday i think water may have seeped into the fuel/IGN relays (due to the back of the bonnet being raised) and when i've tried to start the car it may have shorted the computer. And i did check the relays and there was water in that area. But see what happens Smile

Hey peoples

Went to change over the shocks this morning only to realise i ordered in shocks suited for AE86 struts not customised coilovers like mine Sad I think the shocks i need are for an AE92. The part number on the trd tokiko's is 48511-AE941.

Can anyone confirm what shocks i need for height adjustable coilovers??? Thanks

The shocks are now for sale
Click here if your interested in purchasing them

Heres a few pics of the shocks comparison:

i was practising an inside line techinique, i like the idea of riding the ripple strips on the inside part of the front tire, it takes alot of practice as you can see. Too much over steer in that corner, techniques like this if mastered can be very useful in battles.

Hey Craig

I dont know if you've sorted it our yet, but to replace Tokiko short strokes, you need to replace them with another set of tokikos, or something of the same height. TRD short strokes are similar, but i think they are about 5mm longer (My memory is a bit fuzzy here, but there is a thread about it on club 4AG).

If your original setup used spacers at the bottom of the insert, then you can buy TRD short strokes, and get a different spacer machined up.

I just had a look, and the TRD short strokes are 2mm SHORTER then Tokiko, so if you get some TRD short strokes, you will only need to wind the top gland nut down an extra 2mm, or add 2mm to the spacing at the bottom.

From Club4AG

Reason having been explained TRD's decision was to make the strut cartridge 20mm shorter than necessary to provide transferability to other models such as KP61 and AE92. This design translates to the TRD short stroke unit being 62 mm shorter than comparable OEM strut cartridge. (This may vary by model and other comparable shocks such as the Tokico HTS, which are 60 mm shorter) In any case, we must do out subtraction here... So to put a TRD short stroke cartridge into a 40 mm cut strut case, we must also use a spacer at the bottom of the cartridge to place the shock into the optimum stroke location, and in this case the spacer would be 62 mm - 40mm = 22mm, or 22 mm of spacer must be provided to lock the cartridge into correct location.

Im assuming that your Tokiko short stroke shocks are the same length as Tokiko HTS short strokes. If you want to know, I can give you the measurements for the HTS shocks when I get home.
