ra60
a bit odd but hear me out.
Their cheap as chips, you can pick up roadworthy runing examples for under a grand.
Live rear end so dumping them doesnt cause any camber issues.
Can get the weight down by striping the interiour out, probaly get it down to 1 tonne.
Rims are easy to find since their 4x114.3, ie any wheel that fits a sprinter will fit an ra60.
Power rack and pinion steering
all in all a good cheap thrash car

How about Hilux?
Convert the rear cart-springs to coils, four link with panhard. Stepside tray.

welded diff in a heavy underpowered car does not make it a drift car, I am assuming that he wants to actually competitively drift, going sideways out of a corner does not consitute drift, that is power sliding...
Can he link corners? Does he preapex?

thanks guys, so many cars to choose, but at this point i m leaning towards the Ke70 corollas (i used to own 1) because they are cheap, decent handling but can be enchanced for better, easy power upgrade, good car for drift thrashing and they're light.
or maybe the Soarer so i can make good use of the spare engine i have lying in the garage, or the ra60 celicas........... hhnnnmmmm so many choices
hahaha not bad, is there anything else that they havn't put the 2jz in yet?

When u say drift, do you mean in the likes of track drift or streetable/regoed car that you can take out sliding every so often?
There are many toyota's that would make excellent track cars. My picks include MA70's, GZ20's, the odd rwd celica and also an AE71 or later K series rwd rolla.
I am unsure of the general consensus on toyota forums about 'toyota drift', but it seems that people do often talk about 'getting a drift car' etc...but I rarely seen any toyota's out at any drift practice days or comps. I'd love to see more toyota's out there having a go and showing up some nissan ass, especially other toyota's other than the ae86 such as celica's, supras or soarers etc.

yeah man, ke70/ae71 are probably your best option. They basically retain the weight and handling of an ae86 but they are nowhere near rare, meaning if u dorifto dorifto into a pole pole, parts are cheap . ahahah.
also it aint TOO hard to dump a 4age in the thing, but my recommendation would be get ure suspension and brakes done before that...

In torago's up to 60 kmph you can slip it into reverse and do burnouts going fowards without doing damage to the driveline or anything (this probably works best in wet)
