Ive heard its not similar but it can be adapted to fit?
Money will tell you if it fits.

ummm a JZX81 came with a 1JZ, and you were wondering if a T series rear end sits behind a 1JZ? it would break after you changed into second gear
im pretty sure they came with the big G series rear end, and im also pretty sure they came with IRS, unless you had a full povo pack GX81 with an NA 1GGE i think some of them came with a live rear

All JZX81's came with the same rear end as the Mk3 Supra, ie double-wishbone IRS with a G series diff (optional LSD). It's hard to imagine a setup which is less similar to the AE86!

Yep all the up spec models like the 1jz, 1ggte's, 7M-GE's (like the local cressida) came with double wishbone.
I had heard that the JDM diesel models came with a live rear.
Guess similar povvo spec models would be the same, for instance did you know in japan they sold the chaser/cresta/mark II with a 4AFE??!?? (thats 1.6 twin cam as in AE92 Corollas and such). Now THATS povvo! Wouldn't be surprised if that ran a similar rear end to a AE86 then.

Hilux diff conversion is the go for a G diff in an AE86. Try doing a search

Well, with enough money it can be adapted to fit... but that applies to anything!

Like i said, well not exactly, but if you got the money it will fit, but why?
T/F series would be a cheaper option.
