Gday ppl. I decided to melt a few spark plugs and break something in my engine, so i went out and bought myself a brand new block. Now, before i put my new block in do i have to prep it or something or straight in? Block is in packaging brand new never used and its allready built.
I also have a metal headgasket at the moment, is it reusable?? I think its HKS 3mm.
Im also going to send the head away to get it tested and was wondering if its worth me modding the head? I have ported and polished allredy any other mods??
I was also thinking of hi flowing my turbo??
And how long should i run the engine in before i start thrashing it??
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

The prep should be a std clean and get rid of any of the packing preservative.
Not sure on the reuseability of the MHG's, some do and some don't re-use
Ed Ported his head, and whilst you have it off and had some internal engine dramas, it is definitely worth getting checked and upgraded whilst it is out.
Many turbo options, but I'll have a highflowed one on soon, but it depends on what your HP goal is and what supporting mods you have to match that goal.
Do a search on run-in, you'll find heaps of tips
What did you pay for the block and where did you get it ?
Cheers

Also keep in mind that if you do install the HKS MHG that the head and block have to be a good quality finish. Even tho its a new block it might not be to the rite finish for the MHG.

If I'm thinking about the same internal dramas as you are, then it was caused by a bad injector on cylinder #6.
Thus fried the rings.

You can get them hi flowed for about $1000 depending if you need new bearings etc. I cant really answer about performance gains as I did alot more changes then just the turbo...Seems to boost harder (slight higher rev) and boosts harder all the way up to red line if that makes sense. Im sure someone can answer that question more thoroughly.

NO i dont think he has anymore 7M GTE blocks for sale but im pretty sure he has a R33 GTR front cut for sale. He mostly deals with 4wd like landcruisers and disels.
Does anyone know any good turbo shops in Perth that will do my ct26 turbo??
