18RGE and W55 in a KE70 wagon converted to a ute with T series brakes, lowered suspension and drum brake diff.
Just need to reassemble and cert for the 18RG (was certed for a 3T) and will be hitting the road. Will make a good tow wagon for my Starlet when its finished.

Well it's certainly different.
It should be a tonne of fun in those situations where you don't want traction.

Just to be clear, I am not responsible for the body work. I just pick it up for an extremely good price.....

Started as a 2 door wagon, heaps easier that way as the sidepanels are already there (no doors to weld up) and you can actually fit in it without being a midget.

Will try to get some more pics this weekend, car is not at my place at the moment and I don't have a camera.
Basically the standard key/knob thing from the wagon tailgate pulls a pin in from each side to release it when turned. Needs a little work in this area as uses house door hinges at the moment, got some off another ute I am looking to adapt. Also has no stops on it, going to add some wire or chain to hold the tailgate up. Also fouls a little on the bumper when fitted.

Some more pics.
Still got lots of assembling to do, parts to buy etc. Trying to track down a parts car to get everything I need in one go.

Progress
Finally got fuel and brake lines sorted, even started it up on Sunday with a little temporary wiring. No exhaust (only first half of the manifold) so noisy as hell. Solved that problem today, nice long secondaries, single coby up front, factory style muffler at the rear with 2 1/4 inch pipe right through.
More pics this weekend and hopefully get the wiring and interior sorted. Then its cert, WOF, Reg and DRIVE!!!!!!

Ooh, looky looky I did actually do some work!!!!!
Engine bay all nicely tidied up, only one sensor still to mount and need to find somewhere for the radiator overflow bottle. Need another bracket to brace up the AFM and K&N filter, got exhaust stud drill out so that is all sorted now. One race seat all mounted after a little dicking around and a lot of hacking up the old seats. Also a couple of pics of the swirl pot setup for those who were interested in the fuel system.
