i Have a ta22 with a 3tgte just wondering if anyone has installed it and how hard it is to do, I heard you have to have a radiator/cooler in the car somewere how big is this need to be.
Also what needs to be installed in the engine bay, compressor?

get new or reco'd condensor and an internal TA chiller, get reco'd compressor (or one suitable for reco) and associated mounts and idler pulley for a 3T-GTE motor, take to aircon shop, get them to plumb it all up and supply the missing piping/bits.
You should ensure that all the mounts for the engine stuff are present and working, that the electricals to run the setup are also working.
fwiw, i got aircond working again in my RA40 turbo (before i broke the turbo) and including new piping, connectors and bits, plus a new condensor it set me back a little over $1K. I setup the electricals including a 12" fan out front for the condensor.
as you're a very custom setup, expect to pay well over $1k.

By electrical setup what do you mean like, fan speed switch and a switch/clutch for the compresor to ingage and disengage.(ie turn aircon on)
Thanks for the help.

surley if u look for long enough u can remove the factory unit and just get re plummed into your 22. just the compressor to fit the 3tg might be hard to find. will a 2t fir the same u think

I want to do the same to my TA22. I have purchased the in cabin bits from a TA22 and all the engine bay bits from a 3TG powered car. I was going to mount the condensor directly beneath the radiator support panel and put the intercooler forward of that. I am a little concerned about this impeading airflow to the radiaitor, but with a larger aluminium radiator, shrouds and big thermo fan it should be ok.
If you do go ahead with this let me know as I would be interested in the result. It will a while before I think about aircon, as I havn't even finish the engine yet.

yup, i put in a controller based on a kit i bought (temp sensor was more accurate) and replaced the factory AC electricals. Behaves like the factory setup (e.g. needs intenal fan to be running to turn on, needs running engine to turn on, ...)
