FS: GFB Blow Off Valve SOLD Wed, 12 January 2005 02:22 Go to next message
I have one GFB Blow Off Valve for sale, it is currently fitted to my car. It looks exactly the same as the one in the pic below but mine is blue instead of red.

Works perfectly, excellent condition (one minor rub mark about 2mm diameter on the blue anodised section), quite loud when venting, adjustable spring preload on the piston. I also have the steel weld-on fitting to go with it (I never used it becuase my piping is aluminium).

Reason for selling: I am going back to plumb-back.

NOTE: will consider swap for similar style BOV in plumb-back type, as long as it is in the same good condition Very Happy

Price: $100 + postage. Negotiable. COD or Pick-up only

Cheers.

Oh yeah, Thorpie says it sounds "fully sic"

Interested, where abouts are you located?

When you say "adjustable spring preload on the piston" does that mean you can adjust the sound it makes by twisting it?

Located in Canberra.

The adjustable spring pre-load acts upon the piston, more tension makes it harder to open i.e. more boost to open it is required.

It does not change the sound of it though, unless you wind up too much spring tension and it does not open at all Laughing Then you get the flutttering sound of compressor surge that so many dim-wits think is their BOV Laughing

OK cool, so the spring tension is just adjusted by twisting a certain section of the BOV

correct.

In the small pic in the first post you can see that the nipple to which you fit the vaccuum hose is threaded. This is what adjusts the spring pre-load on the piston.
