filler neck. KE10 would be a little more tricky.

stewart,
how much testing have you done on the MS before you try to get your setup running.
have you installed it before on any other motors? or have you just bench tested?

Heya Chrisss,
i didn't test the temp ensors yet, but i have changed the thermfactor tables using easytherm.
i hooked up the MAP line to see roughly what vacuum i was looking at (ie enough for idle without going to alpha-N)
i also hooked up the tach line to various points and did testing.
http://www.materials.unsw.edu.au/~sford/tach-testi ng.html
http://www.materials.unsw.edu.au/~sford/tach-testi ng2.html
and worked out how i was going to smooth the tach signal (Dave cap and 15K resistor before MS)
nope, just bench tested.. i've had a play with other motors with the tuning side, but they were all close to final numbers anyway. this is my first actual install
fingers crossed.

What sort of anti-surge setup do you have there?
When your car will run?

How wise is this?
My exhaust dude said its really bad for them, and that they would only last 1000km if I did it.
(I wanted to shield the engine bay from the heat, so I suggested wrapping them).
Can it only be done to certain metals? or certain applications?

I've had mine wrapped for around 30k with no ill effects...

What thickness / material did he make your extractors from?
Unless the material is thinner than normal you won't have a problem. My turbo dump is 1.6WT SS wrapped like that.

wise schmize.... they only have to last me until may anyway
they are.... normal exhaust pipe thickness, normal aluminised steel, and they may not last long, but is ok, i'd like to make a new set anyway.
IT RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!
had some issues with the MS code being corrupted during download when changing thermfactor.inc, but re-easythermed it and all good..
starts after 2nd or 3rd crank every time, idles 300rpm lower than carbs, and have a rough map done in under 30 mins!!! how stoked am i
not sure if it's worth dynoing yet, but should make it to dyno day anyways
biggest difference, even with dodgy map, is the smoothness... not sure if it's not pulling as much, or it's pulling more everywhere, but i run out of gears quick

umm, tank is taller by 4 inches and pump sits in the middle with filter almost touching rear of tank. new tank holds near 50L, compared to 30 of old tank.
no antisurge as such, but i don't plan to give it too much on corners anyway...i was going to use an intank pot, but in the end, cbf....

well done stu!
could you post your easytherm measurements?
quick post hijack:
i've done a set of readings on another toytos coolant sensor (ex 2S-E i think - i'll have to clean the bugger to read the part #) and am hoping they're similar to other folk's sensors?
0 C - 5975 ohms
23 C - 2050 ohms
80 C - 410 ohms
these similar to what you got?

danke...
i got my measurements from dave jeals excel sheet at
http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/oz_ms/files/Temp% 20Sensor%20Info/
i have the camira air and coolant temp sensors and the feedback from MT measured exactly with the pre-start temps of the day.. 39 in the evening!!!
i'm using standard 2490ohm resistor.
for CLT i used 0, 50 and 100 deg
for MAT i used 0 40 and 80deg
under vbonnet temps today (the temp sensor is just in engine bay atm) was 66 degrees!!!!!!!!!! H@LY M@ly

ps, and with the 80x100mm unifilter, sounds like a mini 4AG now pulls and pulls and revs cleany to around 8000rpm...

Hey Stew
Sounds promising Hope to see you there
BTW, I had a temp sensor above the intake manifold on the 2JZ that overranged at 70 degrees. Basically after it warmed up it was always overrange... makes sense really, you wouldn't expect that area of the engine bay to be any cooler than coolant temps... In-cabin temps were 55 degrees but that's another story
