hey there
i'm from canberra, just recently bought a '97 stock standard starlet, and trying to find out what sort of 14" wheels i can fit on it? don't really know where to look for this information, i'm not that car savvy yet
anyone able to point me to a website or something?
PS: good to see there's some car modding life in canberra after all

Welcome!!!
U will find that u will be addicted to this site from now on, which is a great thing, the guys/girls here are always helpful.
Now to your Q, why do u want 14's??? if theres no special reason, 16's or even 17's look awesome on that type of car! Especially spokey type rims.
Sorry to be straight out, but just curious on your plans
Thanks
Ben

i agree they'd look awesome, but as far as i can tell they're also awesomely more expensive :/
i'm working off a *very* tight budget at the moment... things should improve in the near future, but until then it's 14's
unless i actually spot someone selling 15's or something at a bargain price.... let me know if you spy something

Not sure on your budget but QwikFit in phillip where pretty good when i wanted new rims, I didn't end up getting any but they were nice and offered a good price. If you need Tyres go to North West tyres in fyshwick they have quality tyres at a VERY low price, I got 215's on back and 195 on front for $85-$95 each about 4 months ago and they still look newish.

You can now get new 15's for as low as $750 and sometimes even cheaper than that, and that is with tyres. So just look around and get quotes, you will be suprised at how cheap they will get when you show them a quote from somewhere else
I hope this helps

i agree unless you are going down the secondhand path 14s arent goint to be much cheaper then 15s or 16s. if your going to upgrade in the future i reckon you will be just wasting your money now. why buy something twice?

Where are you from?
I know when i go to get a new set of rims i will be making the trek down to sydney to buy my new rims as i will be saving more than it will cost in fuel. It is worth the trip to your local capital city as the savings you make will be HUGE

If you want to drive up to sydney you can but when i was looking for rims I found that the money saved in sydney would be money spent getting there so that wasn't an option for me.

The trek from Newcastle to sydney and back again would only cost me about $30 in fuel as it will take less than a tank for the trip.
