Is it possible? Amount of work?
Which is the next best option other than JDM AE86 LSD? Is there a cheaper option than JDM AE86 excluding TRD and KAAZ??

I looked into this idea, didn't do it mainly because of the cost of a decent rear end - series 1 and 2 ones seemed easy enough to find, but the stronger 10 bolt series 3 ones seemed to be either flogged to death, unfindable or too pricey. So I settled for the lowest common(dore) denominator and went with the Skyline borg warner one - I've written about this heaps before, do a search.

gt20v,
I actually have a complete TRX on the way (for wrecking), which im assured is a series 3. 'Tis an auto and I know the owner so im pretty sure it won't be caned.
If you're interested in the Differential, ill yank it out, check it over and get back to you.
On the fitting part, It uses the same stud pattern as the '86. But will need shortenting and brackets swapping over.
The good thing is that they are both bloody tough (some sub 11sec cars use them) and cheap compared to an aftermarket or OEM '86 one.

I've asked coz I think I may be able to get a TRX Bluebird too, but let me know how much you want to sell it to me for..
But the most important question will be, how much will it cost to shorten and re-weld brackets?? And does it need to get engineered??
mrshin: I know there's quite a bit of info about these things too, but the search engine always either return nothing, or returns way too much info! I reckon we should compile all the important and frequency asked about topics, and have them on toymods instead..
