make a stock exhaust sound beefier

Ey,
OK I know you guys like to stab people if they try to make a pov engine sound good by defecting their exhaust, but hear me out.
Basically I have a 4AGE coming in a month and a half, but before that, considering I will be getting an entire new exhaust, im wondering if there's any way to make the stock exhaust sound louder. Its a KE70 with 4kc and oem exhaust and im wondering how to make it sound just a lil bit beefier .
I've been told a few methods like unbolting something or drilling a hole somewhere etc etc, but im wondering if anyone has tried something and KNOWS it works. I don't class myself a ricer, but I would like just that little bit of extra... *rush* feeling when I rev my car, and watching the faces of all the fooly sik holden cunts when i do it .
Any ideas?

new muffler!
best way to get what you're after. luckily the 4a-ge naturally sounds a little chunkier than most of the 4-cyl buzz-boxes out tehre

ahahah indeed... well a new muffler for an engine that im going to smash with a hammer in 2 months anyway is a bit out of question. Add to that the fact all my money is going towards the 4AGE and RA28 struts with coilovers.. so i need something that doesnt require cash and that can be done without too many hassles...

or cut the muffler off at where it meets the exhaust pipe, but just leave it still hanging there and u shouldn't have any cop trouble, jsut maybe lose some back pressure

it should be easy as the baffles are probably rusted up anyway. so just poke the chisel down the tailpipe and bash away!

We've got a POS pulsar we thrash around the paddock. First day we got it we drilled a couple of dozen holes in the muffler and its quite loud.

Get it "Ryobi" tuned angle grinder to the front or back of the can
Personally, my 4ac exhaust is "GMC" tuned

Just cut holes somewhere. cutting holes on any part will make it louder. Just keep adding more/bigger holes till you get to the level of beastyness you're satisfied with.

just get a sports muffler. its not like you cant swap it onto the new exhaust system later on anyway so go for it and you wont have to worry about stupid things like cops puling you up for too much noise or getting epad because when its cold and you have smoke pouring out from under your car rater than the back

my neighbour used to have a corolla panel van old one, anyway on the way home from work one day the exhaust fell off just leaving the extractors, that sounded damn awesome for how shit condition the car was in. Funnier still was even though the car was worth about 2 bucks it got stolen from outside our house, it was found about 4 streets away, mmm sounds like a joyride

put hole in the pipe, don't make them too big or u partly defeat the purpose of the exhaust, unless u just don't give a shit!!

funny this thread should come up, as earlier this week, the dump pipe on my 1G decided to break in half and subsequently have my exhaust dragging along the ground
after pulling the exhaust off I realised it actually sounded rather awesome, at low revs it was pretty average and sounded like a truck but at high revs it was breathtaking and sounded like a 747 taking off
However driving around for two months, well I wouldnt reccomend that, I fixed mine the next day, cut out your rear muffler dont just hollow it, it will really sound like shit
get some pipe cut it out and then reweld, voila, beefy 4ac

Rust in the muffler sometimes works Had an AE92 which actually sounded quite good with a big hole in the end of the muffler (near the tailpipe) but sadly I had to change it to pass rego
You could also try accidentally wedging the exhaust up the rear wheel arch

My GF's KE70 muffler tip fell (rusted) off. It gave it balls!
Just cut off the rear tip, bust the pipe inside the can a little, and weld on a bigger tip over the hole.
Easy?
Let me know how you go.

cut off the oval backing plate on the muffler and then gut the inside of it, you now have a ~10" oval tip and an exhaust with no restrictions , but dont blame me when your car takes about 30mins to get to 50km/hr
