Howdy, i just got a few SA63 specific questions to ask all you guys. (BTW I'm a real dumbass when it comes to cars )
1.Is there any way to stop rust from building up at the bottem left of the window on the tailgate (is there something that causes this?)
2. How do you get into the rear speaker bays, and once inside is it possible to fit 6x9's in there without too much messin around?
3. How do i get to the front speakers and the stupid sub? (saves trying to work it out myself).
4.Whats a good way of putting a 15inch subwoofer in a SA63, or else ill try and find a Portable box.
CHEERS!

1) You need to have the rust removed, the area rust treated, then repaired and painted. The problem stems from the type of seal Toyota used.
2) The rear speaker bays you can get at from the side once the seat is folded down. They only fit a 6x4" or something. Personally I wouldn't bother about 6x9's if you're getting a sub. Some 4" for rear fill might be alright if you're really wanting rear speakers.
3) From speakers can be accessed by pulling the covers off. Top, then bottom. "sub" can be accessed from beneath from memory.
4) I'd recommend a 12" sub. Due to the shape of the cabin, the SA63 will be really good for big deep bass.

Rear stock speaker positions will NOT hold 6x9s... get a ruler
To get at the stock speakers, id recommend a screwdriver, interior pieces are easy to remove with that.
A 15" sub would be excessive, I have a 12" in the back of my ra60, its more than plenty
IMHO, don't bother with stock speaker locations, unless you are going to modify them for bigger speakers. I just chucked some 4x6's in the doors, sound good coupled with the sub.
Cheers,
James

Thanks dudes....
sorry i just managed to open up the back speaker bay a LIL bit (even though i undid the sway bar(or whatever, it wouldnt get out i didnt want to break anything) and the blind) and when i looked inside the bay there was alot of room inside compared to looking at that fuzzy cover. getting to those fronts speakers n sub is gonna be a bitch, i cant help it i really wanna see that stock sub. Yeh i got the 15 inch 250 watt RMS! sub for only 70 bux second hand so i might sell it n jsut get a 12 inch like you suggested.

Don't bother with 6x9s in the rear passenegr area. Previous owner did it to my car, and had to remove a fair bit of sheetmetal . Rear speakers are a waste of time unless you really want rear fill, or often have rear passengers and really want them to have speakers next to them... in which case I wouldn't bother with 6x9"s anyway. Only advantage they have over 6" round speakers is bass, IIRC, and you have a sub, so really, don't bother

Don't turn up the Sub on a rainy day either... I did and I think the water seeps through the rear window seal as the window is vibrating from loud music... next you know it (years down the track)... U would have a hole in the tail gate from rust... I know I did from my 12" Sub.
Cheers.

My car came with 6 inch spilts in the doors.
I added 6x9s in boxes in the boot and tweeters up the front.
Then i bought 1200w 15 inch sub chucked it in the back and replaced the 6 inch splits with the 6x9s that were in the boxes then chucked the 6inch splits in the front (well the only) Doors.
I have the sub turned down low as i'm not a "Doofer" I got for sound quality more than volume level.
Also u can put 6x9s there i've seen it
it took the guy like 2 weeks to do it tho.
