I fail to see how, when one is 95 octane and the other 98. Mixing in a 50/50 fashion would give around 96 (octane is a logarithmic scale I believe).

I dont know how it happened but he was almost kicked out of the comp because of it
He had to mix normal unleaded to his tank to drop the octane

that vortex prob comes with a free octance booster
to boost its octance up to spec lol and he prob got
given a pack of them instead of 1
id believe if when i saw bp and vortex mixed giving
a higher octance, no offence or anything. then id
probably still contend it logically...

iv seen a whole bunch of tests on the stuff and they
vary greatly, nulon was one of the best, some were
absolute crap. it only boosts it by a few points.
if u need it because the engine has been tuned up for
the night go nulon. other than that you dont need it, bp ultimate is 98!
might as well buy a drum of toluene if it was needed
often its generally the main ingredient of these
expensive bottles anyway.
its an indirect performance aid, it doesnt add power
by itself, it allows other modifications to work which
produce the power, without the booster they would cause
damage to the engine.

Vortex is now touting to be 98 Octane. Still not touching it, had one bad experience back when it was 95 and the dude at the server assured me it was 98.
Ultimate 1st preferance, The Mobil 8000 then Optimax.

People........My mechanic has a full engine dyno setup and runs 4 engines in the v8 supercars. He's in his 50's and deals only with MOTEC EMS. (just to prove his credentials) To him, Mobil Synergy 8000 is by far and wide the best. Also, Classic Adelaide cars run the 8000 only, and i have seen F40's and SLR mercedes's fill up at my work site. All race prepared cars and the F40 from America. If they ude it, ao can I for m car, hence since the rebuild, nothin but S8000.
Oh, and tho Mobil 1 wasn't recommended by the same mechanic (he doesnt like fully syn oils) i still use it ey!! well, factory porche and AMG Mercedes come with Mobil 1. Good enough 4 me
