fuel pressure regulator???

i don't understand the pupose/workings of these to much, i had some one tell me they help with the tuning of the a/r ratios???

Basically if you increase pressure (with an adjustable reguator) you can get more fuel flow through your injectors. Very handy if you are borderline on needing an upgrade. Main problem is unlike properly tuning your computer your fuel supply will increase at ALL engine speeds/loads, so it is a very primative tuning tool.
Hopefully someone else can give a little more detail of the benefits/drawbacks.

They actually come standard on pretty much all EFI cars. They are a vacuum controlled restrictor, that is open at full vacuum (idle). As vacuum drops fuel pressure increases, and thus more fuel can flow.
I guess it's just a coarse adjustment before the injector duty does the adjusting.
