My good celica has started poping when i take off in low rpms, i remember my father and i retarted the timing back to 10 degree from a Gen2 MR2 motor.... it was at 15 when i bought my car... so im wondering if this has any contribution to the poping sound... and i dont go if i pop as well.... feels like it wants to stall.. But the manual says it should be only 10 degree as well for the timing.

I might be wrong, but wouldn't that be because you've changed the timing lower therefore causing more back pressure which is that popping noise you hear..or maybe blocked cat?
