These 13 hour night shifts really give me the shits, how about we start something new. List your old rides with a short comment on each one, I'll kick this one off boys and girls. Try and keep the format happening.
1966 VW Bettle - slow, bad lights, mint condition.
1978 Ford Escort - god I hate automatics, good rally beast!
1973 HQ Wagon - did it have a straight panel on it......no
1973 TA22 Celica - still got this baby, rides hard.
Fiat 125S - boy did this twin cams rev, big mistake.
HJ Sedan - drove this from Tassy to Townsville and back, top car!
Mini - brakes........what brakes, never again?
HX Ute - no problems, good old work horse, did up well.
1989 Yamaha WR250 - sick fun, wish I still had it.
1998 GSXR 750 - oh my god, I still remember the VIC rego YJ605, this one is also gone but what great memories and photos I have.........yum fuel injection!
1998 Honda XR400 - a must have for any dirt bike fans, I did 8000km on this in 12 months and sold it for a profit!
1979 Datsun 280ZX - I love this car, wife hates it, still got it!

I've had only a few...
1977 mitsubishi Sigma 2L 5 speed.
- this baby would go anywhere/ do anything, at twice the speed anyone elses shit box could!
Even climbed the trig point behind tamworth in it, after a 3 unit maths exam ( I was a bit pissed off) - THERE IS NO ROAD !
1974 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Sedan. The most beautiful riding and handling car I am ever likely to own. Lowered 3 inches on fully adjustable koni suspension, Thge most advanced car for its age I can think of - twin cam, 5 speed, 4 wheel disks, inboard disks on the rear, IRS, easily adjustable torsion bar front suspension, gearbox was all in one unit at the back with the mechanical lsd disk brakes and IRS, to make for better weight ditribution. No dyno queen but very quick A dream to drive.
1980 ser 1 rx7, very tidy example, though had a huge appetite for oil and eventually dropped a seal, threw another engine in it and sold it before it cost big bucks.
lots of fun to drive , opened my eyes to rotary potential.
1974 ta22 celica -
A family institution, it had been my younger brothers car for 4 years before and I had done a lot of work on it and felt quite attached to it already so when it came up for sale, brothers rates, i snapped it up, heaps of grunt, nice paint, my bro is a painter, cool wheels it looked a million bucks.
Final frustration with the money involved maintaining such a car (just try keeping tyres up to it !), and reliabillity required by my new job , forced the sale.
1990 JZA70 supra 5 speed. - my current ride. The ultimate fast cruiser ( for under 30 g), classic jap corvette looks with Bucketloads of grunt and heaps of potential, nice handling, not enough brakes. Worthy of any amount of cash I can spare to throw at it .

I'll give this a go.... start laughing......... NOW!!!
1. 1969/1970 Mazda 1200/1300 - Rally car, 1300 motor in 2-door sedan body, Weber and extractors, gas konis.... dark blue with white roof, old man totalled it when he didn't listen to his navigator (me!), and forgot to slow down for a double/triple caution... two trees later....
2. 1970 Mazda 1300 Coupe - R100 model, got all the good guts from the rally car, pristine interior with plastic still on door trims!! White with black interior, really cool car, Performance Challengers and Yoki's all round.... rolled into a ball during the early 90's Victorian floods.... ask me some time...
3. 1971 Mazda RX2 - Coupe rally car, purchased at the demise of the 1300 rally car. Got everything, 4w discs, Koni gas, factory motorsport LSD (4.9 or so), cage.... currently resting at the moment, still road registered, may be looking for a new home soon...
4. 1979 Ford Escort Mk2 Rally Pack - A demon of a car, great fun, and the 2 Litre was fun!!! Kept breaking seat mounts due to the rusted-out floor - You could see the ground in a LOT of places! Traded in on...
5. 1983 Ford Telsar TX5 Ghia - Auto, first car bought during first marriage. Sometimes reliable, used to flatten batteries a bit, great for handbrakies.... holed water pump, couldn't bother changing, traded in on...
6. Brand new 1997 or so Daewoo Cielo - SOHC 1500cc auto... basically a 1990 or so Vauxhall Astra. Driven for a while, replaced the Escort as the fastest car ever driven (managed 181km/h!!!). Traded in on...
7. 2-door RAV4 Cruiser - Auto, blue, loved this car. 4 cup holders, CD, twin removable sun roofs, go anywhere ability. Lost in divorce...
8. 1983 Toyota Sprinter - Silver/blue, currently with 4AGE, MY car. Still owned, not driven much. Great fun though...
9. 2000 Honda Civic - Silver GL Auto, absolute bottom of the range. Ex-girlfriends car. Now wife. Daily driver, impossible to get into trouble driving this car, no go, no handling and no brakes.... probably lucky can't get into trouble!!!!
Phew...

farrout! don't think my response to this thread could even be called a list after reading some of the above posts!
My list of cars to date:
- 1981 Mazda 323 SS - Worked 1.5 with twin carbs. Typical young guy/first car scenario. It ended up bonnet first in a ditch late at night in the middle of nowhere. (Moral of the story - Don't drive angry!!)
- 1991 Corolla GTi - Still got it..
So yeah! BIG list for me!!

RA23 - mad car. Stacked it pretty hard, stuck an 18R-G in it, then the motor died. Still have it, soon to be scrapped.
XD Falcon - had a 4.1 in it, but was slower than the 18R-C powered Celica. A/C didn't work, no power steering. A bitch to drive.
MS112 Crown - Current car, lent to me by a workmate. Goes alright, power everything, fridge on the parcel shelf, air purifier in the boot... A 1UZ would suit that car nicely.
RA23 - Next car, picking it up next weekend. Half dead motor, so the 18R-G will be fixed and put into it.

Whoa, some of these people have had a LOT of cars...here's my sorry little list, mind you, only had my licence for 1 and a half years.
1981 RA60 Celica XT - So painfully slow, yet I love the thing and still belt it around. Handles really well compared to any other car I've driven. Still driving her round, saw Pizza duty action too.
1982 Mitsubishi Starion - fresh import engine meant this thing went like the a preoverbial shower of...well...you know what. So many problems, so cramped, so rusty, so gone

Jeez rod, now we know why celicas are getting so rare........
My list is pretty poor, a 1977 TA23 with a 4A-GE in it, orange (crappy paint job) bought modified and crashed while sideways on a bridge, head on into another car. And a 1976 RA23, bought stock, put in 4A-GE from 1st celica, lada dee, lada da, you know the rest of the story. Or should I say, the rest, is history......
Oh, and a 1988 Toyota Cressida, half mine half my brothers.

72 ta22 celica; bent and sprayed in yellow house paint. present from rod for mt first car
83 sprinter; had blown head gasket, fixed it then crashed numerous times, sold for a profit
75 ta22 celica; bought off rod then got stolen
72 ta22 celica; cost $100 multi coloured. gave $50 dollar respray but lights would change red by the time i crossed the intersection. (very worn out and auto)
74 datsun 120y; cheap shitbox but fun to rally, jump on,crash into things, generally thrash and not die.
73 ta22 celica; not bad all round, also stolen. took 6 weeks to get back and was dumped out the back of a police station
72 ta22 celica; stock but resprayed white. took 3 months to get on the road then set it on fire and wrote off within a month.
73 ta22 celica; bought as shell from rod then fitted with 3tg. beutifully quick car.
75 datsun 120y shitter auto but good to do all those things to a car you hate. (home made bonnet scoop)
8? suzuki carry van; another cheap runabout wasnt so good at 4wd tracks
holden drover(siera); died after 20ft plus airborn over sand dune then nosedived at over side. messy and painfull. then while driving home on freeway bonnet came unhooked and flew up into windscreen at 100ks. can now be seen at pick and payless.
90 mr2 bathurst; sweet car, great to drive but far too expensive, sold for about $15000 loss.
72 celica ta22; sweet original owner with low ks, could not afford to keep however and had to be sold. did not feel too bad as was sold to rod.
currently;
83 series 3 bluebird (runaround shitter) 75 ta22 celica (project car) mx83 cressida ( currently undergoing 1j conversion)

Bunny,
Come on there young fella, did you read the post? I said name your old rides, not name the cars that went through the M5 EAST tunnel in 1 minute yesterday arvo at 6:00pm I think that list is just a little bit long for a 20 year old. No man on earth would have that much spare time to spend waiting in line at the RTA doing rego transfers!
Rod,
Interesting point about losing money on dam cars.
1966 VW Bettle - up $250
1978 Ford Escort - evens
1973 HQ Wagon - down $400
1973 TA22 Celica - N/A
Fiat 125S - down $1700
HJ Sedan - down $1000
Mini - down $1000
HX Ute - evens
1989 Yamaha WR250 - up $1000
1998 Suzuki GSXR 750 - down $4000
1998 Honda XR400 - up $100
1979 Datsun 280ZX - N/A
No money to be made but heaps of memories and good fun!

ahh yes........ my religion, it all revolves around the sacred day (THURSDAY) Tradingpost day i am one of those butholes that gets all the good cheapies before anyone else does, and cause im a student i can i have got a loan once to buy the vortex but an 80km/ph ride into the side of a thirteen ton truck ended that little experiment (his fault though,i got more than i paid for the car through insurance) actually the court case for that one still continues, that buthole is going to pay for my back one way or another. anyhu, i get bored very easily and religiosly wake early on a thursday morning and this is how i have achieved so many and i went through it, the actual number is 52 hope this ansers your question
