Prototype Soarer and Supra

I found these the other day. Photos of the Soarer and JZA80 Supra prototypes taken at a Toyota Automotive Museum somewhere. I dont know if anybody here has seen them before but just in case (damn what I'd give to have that Soarer prototype in my own little museum!)

Dont knowabout the Supra, but the Soarer was designed in America, not Japan.

anyword about what was under the bonnet of the soarer?
I have a feeling it would be the V8 1uz-fe used in the old soarer or possibly the 4.3 out of the SC430?

Well it was the prototype of the 92 onwards Soarer, so Im guessing it would have been the 1UZ. The 3UZ wasn't made back then.

At least the supra looks a heck of a lot better than if it was based on the current celica! just imagine a bigger fatter version of the new celica- ill.

I reckon they both look like S*#T!!!
And what the hell is with that secondary door line on the side of the soarer??? (visable from the Supra pic)... That also looks quite gay...
There's something about the front end of the Soarer that makes it look wrong... And yes, also the interior is very wierd...

ive got a feeling that these were a prototype for the 1990 model supra and soarer it looks very much like a 1980's concept of the 1990's (or what they think cars will look like in the 1990's)
compare these prototypes to the prototypes we see today, these dont fit in at all really.

top one looks like crap...dunno what the hell they were thinking with that one.
bottom one is fairly good, just needs some work on and around the headlights
