Hi guys...thought I'd tell you about my car...
It doesn't get out as much as I'd like, but it's good fun anyway.
Some specs:
1989 JDM GT4 converted to Group A (less the widebody)
- 3SGTE, TRD cams, forged pistons, Motec M4 (including antilag and rotational idle), 3" straight through exhaust (yes it's loud),
- 5spd, straight cut dog box
- RD LSD rear, locked centre diff, and soon to be Torsen front diff
- ST 205 brakes front using Mazda Series 6 RX-7 calipers (same as 205)
- Mazda series 5 RX-7 front calipers rear with big vented disks.
- Pedal box with adjustable brake bias
- 3000lb solid centre button clutch
- Quickrack
- Sparco seats with 3" harnesses
- 50mm Proflex fully adjustable suspension
- Chrome Moly roll cage
The car is a barrel of laughs to run as it's very quick, and a handful to drive...but when you can tame it, it's almost unbeatable.
Only one photo sorry...

And a video

Cheers,

Cheers Troy...I knew after watching Carlos and Neal driving them properly, that they were never designed to be toddled back and forth to the shops...this is what they were specifically made for!!

Sorry Dave...
The video was a montage done by one of the guys in Canberra. It was taken over a few stages of the Caltex Starmart event back in September. We were running as high as 3rd and beating some very reputable competition, when the gearbox shat itself.

Cheers guys...I have to confess though, the car makes my driving look good.
I've got a DVD that a friend did of the incar...that's not as exciting, because the speed doesn't seem as good, but it still works pretty well.
I think I can convert it to MPEG so I'll see what I can do.

Technical advice...um...yeah...I'm still learning too!!
I've only just switched back to Celica's last year, after running Subaru's for about 7 years.
But I've now pulled the car down and rebuilt it enough to know a fair bit about them.
I'm happy to field questions, just don't always expect an answer of quality...but I'll tell you if I don't know!!

How do I come first??? hehehe..
Man that car is Absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!
I've tried a dirt track but it was WAY too tiny for any quick movement, it was honestly the width of my 4th gen so i couldn't do anythin...
But yeah very very impressive car and video..
Now for some more serious questions
How much did it cost u to compete?
And what are the usual expenses for that sort of rally?
Congrats again thats a sweet car!!!
By the way What wheels are those?
15" Oz Racing rims?
I'm making some out of the vzv21 camry rims which look nearly identical, just wondering what sort of rubber u got on them size wise?

Well...I'll be honest and say it's not cheap at all...but it's probably at the cheaper end of motorsport...relatively speaking.
Expenses for a usual rally include (but not limited to):
Entry fees
Fuel
Tyres
Accomodation and food
Wear and tear (VERY difficult to get a figure for that)
Typically, each rally would cost in the order of between $500 - $1000 (with the difference being based around how far I have to travel to get there, and whether the car needs minor work or major work).

The wheels are 15x6.5" Compomotive MO's. I run 195/65-15" rally tyres. I've run Dunlops and now Bridgestones...but entertaining a switch to Falkens because they are a bit cheaper at the moment.
Thanks for the positive comments...it's fun for sure.
