Valve shim resizing	Mon, 27 May 2002 11:23

I am getting the valves and seats reground on my 18R-geu head and was wondering how i go about resizing the shims under the buckets? i know im gunna need a micrometer and a whole stack of shims im just wondering where to get the shims from? i heard that ones from kawasaki motorbikes fit? thanks. ok, so is that the same as 2TG shims? So I can get 2TG/18RG shims from Toyota for a SW20 MR2 - 5S-FE / 3S-GTE? Are we sure? [Report message to a moderator]

You can also go into any YAMAHA motorbike shop and buy them in varying sizes. Don't forget, not all valves will require the same shim size. [Report message to a moderator]

the yamaha and kawaski are 2mm smaller than the toyota 1s the shims are the same for 2tg 18rg and 94 on wards 3sge mr2 [Report message to a moderator]
