How hard was it to strip it down that far? I'm contemplating doing that with my Celica XX but I'm not sure...
Looks like it'll be good though dude

What method did you use to strip the paint off your car?
I've been told not to sand because it leaves marks in the metal,
not to acid dip because you can often be left with nothing. I've just been told to use paint stripper.

am told that paint stripper is not a good idea as it gets in the metal and you can never get rid of it...

How will I get rid of the paint? I've also been told not to sand (bead) blast as that can leave tiny dints in the metal as well.
Everything that's been suggested to me I'm told by someone else not to do.
Help!!

The car was stripped back using paint stripper. Paint stripper is fine if used correctly and properly removed with thinners(according to my painter who has been in the buisness for 30 years). It took me a few weekends to dismantle everthing. I originally bought it for $200 as a spare parts car for my RA23. It had spent most of its life in Canberra and it previous owner had done some questionable mods such as fitting mild steel bolts and washer to the front hubs to make FWD offset rims fit. The body was in very good shape with no rust at all around the screens. The only rust was a tiny patch in each rear quarter and around the taillights. I have also had all excess engine bay holes, badge holes, sill strip holes and the aerial hole removed. The guards have been modified and hand rolled for greater clearance. The indicator holes are modified for VT style indiactors.

if your going to put clear indicators in the sides you have to get clear ones for the front other wise it looks stupid, thats the problem i have at the moment. GOOD LUCK, its look good

Yeah I managed to get a new set of crear winkers from the states to match the VT's.
