Standard ae86 speedo is cable driven, unless you get one of those *danmned sylish* digital dashes.

The standard speedo is run off of a cable that runs from the end of the gearbox to the back of the dash - nothing needs to be changed because you'll use the same gearbox.

yeh, I've got a same thought.
by then how do I get a speedo signal for the ECU? or I don't have to give a speedo signal to the ECU(redtop or 20v)?

I'm not actually sure if the ECU NEEDS a speed signal, or if its only for the speed limiter anyways... If it needs one, then you'll probably need to make up something on the end of the gearbox, or fit a pulse generator to the speedo cable - ask a speedo place.

If you want to use Engine Check Light then you need to connect the speed signal to the ECU, otherwise the check light will flash when you reach 100km/h. The Aus Sprinter has speed signal output at the back of the speedo,I think it's the pin No.7 (turn the speedo over and read from R->L).
