Front Brakes not Locking up

I have just reconditioned my front brakes and they will not lock up now, i didnt exactly follow the bedding in instructions to well, do you think that could have this effect, the the ammount of not locking up at all.
I am going to bleed them once more and then take it to a profesional.

I assume you have new pads? How many km since you put them in? When i changed the pads in my previous car ('93 daihatsu charade) it took at least 100kms before i got any sort of bite back into them, and i followed the bedding in procedures too (i think it was taking the car from 60 to 20km/h about 20 or so times).

It will take a bit for the first little layer to wear off...
Just drive around on some VERY quiet back roads...
At around 60-80km/h stand really hard on the brakes, DON'T lock the rears...
Do this a few times over and over, that will sit the brakes in properly... Then if you want to get the first layer off quickly... Drive with your foot on the brake... Although brakes will heat up, and petrol consumption will go up...

If you have grippy tyres, and stock brakes, you probably won't be able to lock up.

Does the car pull up really well now though?
I have 4spot Z32 TT brakes on my car.
If I apply the brakes in a conservative manner (ie, slow pressure increase, not rapid panic attack), its quite hard to lock them up.
If I jam the brakes on, it all locks up.
I have sticky tyres though.

Likewise - I've got R33 turbo brakes on my Corolla, and it's surprising how much force you can apply to the buggers!

Yeah, ditto, on 4spot hiluxes with a 15/16th master in the 86 i cant quite lock them up. Will skid for a ms but wont lock. Running A539s and A032Rs. Both nice and grippy.
