do i need to change my gearbox Thu, 20 January 2005 04:20 Go to next message
im thinking of keeping my car and replacing the engine with an low kms imported motor (4age out of corolla sx)
do i need to replace the gearbox aswell or can i use my existing one
to my knowledge of cars i dont think there is anything wrong with my one but i dont know much about cars so yerr ...
would the change of engine be a good time to change the clutch aswell
is there any other things recommended to be changed while im getting the change done

yep, what car you got with what engine in it,

If the box is worn, clunky and full of shiny stuff, replace it, but if it still works like a new one, well see if you can get a few more years from it. Depends an awful lot on how it has been treated...
