 engine conversion questions.

considering an engine conversion, and seeming as most of you guys are conversion veterans, whats some of the issues involved with a conversion? IE insurance issues ( just need third party), engineers certificate, will I have to ring the RTA and inform them etc etc etc.. being a n/a to turbo and all..

Well, first of all, hows about telling us what you've got in mind
2JZGTE into KP61 starlet will probably meet with a little opposition from the authorities... Whereas 4ag into ae82 won't create such a hassle (came with it as an option) - so lets hear what you were thinking!

as far as i know:
you need an engineers certificate if you change the engine mounts,crossmembers, gearbox ect
you need a blue slip with the new engine, which i think includes noise/emissions test
then u head to the RTA to wait in line for 2 hours and thats it
ps dont forget the much fucking around/frustration/money spent
of the actual conversion

well I own a nissan, so im thinkin CA18DE to SR20DET, ofcourse it prolly wont happen, but im just considering my options.
